Most likely not because it’s not talked about as much as the Placebo effect, yet it’s just as powerful!
Placebo is based on the belief that the treatment is real and due to the positive thoughts and mindset, many times researchers have found they can have a variety of both physical and psychological effects. ❤️🩹
“Participants in placebo groups have displayed changes in heart rate, blood pressure, anxiety levels, pain perception, fatigue, and even brain activity.”
ALL from the belief of the treatment being REAL!
Nocebo on the other hand has the same exact power yet it’s a NEGATIVE belief, for instance my doctor giving me a prognosis 😒 aka life sentence based on stats that are most likely outdated and are various individuals who we have no idea anything about! 🤦🏻♀️
Unfortunately this Nocebo effect causes people’s belief to shift by taking on such words, hence causing the worst case scenario to happen. 😔
